Does Bryan Johnson Take Ashwagandha? His Capsule, Dose and Timing (2026)

By ProtocolPicksPublished

Whether ashwagandha is in Bryan Johnson's current routine, which product he takes, what the label lists, and when his own protocol says to avoid it. Scope: This summarizes one person's published protocol and a manufacturer's product page. It is not medical advice.

What the sources show

Yes, one capsule with his morning pills

Bryan Johnson's April 2026 morning routine lists "Ashwagandha & Rhodiola" among the pills he takes each morning, and his January 2026 protocol includes it in the morning part of his daily routine. It is one capsule, taken alongside the rest of his morning supplements rather than at night.

What the capsule contains

Blueprint lists one veggie capsule per serving with: Ashwagandha: 120 mg of root and leaf extract (Withania somnifera). No standardization is listed.Rhodiola: 300 mg of Rhodiola rosea root extract, standardized to 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside. The suggested use is one capsule in the morning with food. Blueprint says the product is third-party tested for purity and heavy metals and publishes the test results. A 30-capsule bottle is $24 on Blueprint's US store when we checked in October 2026.

A smaller ashwagandha dose than his female protocol mentions

The female section of his protocol suggests ashwagandha at 300-600 mg and rhodiola at 200-400 mg daily during the luteal phase to help with stress and bloating. One Blueprint capsule has 120 mg of ashwagandha, below that range, and 300 mg of rhodiola, inside it. Compare the label to whatever dose you are aiming for rather than assuming one capsule matches every section of the protocol.

When his protocol says to skip it

The pregnancy section of his protocol lists ashwagandha among the supplements to avoid during pregnancy, along with the Longevity Mix. Blueprint's product page carries the standard supplement disclaimer and suggests asking a healthcare professional if you are unsure about cycling it. Check with a clinician before adding it, especially if you take other medication.
